The Directorate is committed to providing comprehensive and efficient library services that meet the diverse academic and research needs of students, faculty, and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University library is housed in two spacious and well-furnished buildings. The <strong>Main Library<\/strong> in Tuluawliya  accommodates nearly <strong>2500 users<\/strong>, while the second library in Mekanselam Campus facility has a capacity of <strong>approximately 2500 users<\/strong> at a time. Each library is equipped with designated <strong>Circulation<\/strong>, <strong>Reference<\/strong>, <strong>Periodicals<\/strong>, and <strong>Documentation<\/strong> sections to ensure effective and accessible services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the University library holds a growing physical collection of over <strong>42,000 books and documents<\/strong>, including more than <strong>5,000 specialized documents<\/strong>. In addition to its physical resources, the library has built a robust <strong>digital collection<\/strong> consisting of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over <strong>55,000 electronic books<\/strong> spanning various disciplines aligned with the University\u2019s academic programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approximately <strong>1,200 electronic theses and dissertations<\/strong>, accessible to students and staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the digital library is integrated with the <strong>National Digital Library of Ethiopia<\/strong> and connected to several <strong>international digital library databases<\/strong>, providing the University community with extensive access to global scholarly resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enhance user experience and service efficiency, the library has automated its operations. Through the <strong>Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)<\/strong> or Koha system, users can remotely search the library\u2019s physical book collection and check the availability and status of resources from anywhere\u2014be it their dormitory, office, or home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Library circulation services are fully managed using the <strong>KOHA Integrated Library Management System<\/strong>, which facilitates book borrowing, return transactions, and real-time tracking of collection usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through these continued advancements, the Library and Documentation Directorate at Mekdela Amba University remains committed to fostering academic excellence and a strong research culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LIBRARY OPENING HOURS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>Regular Time (Monday to Sunday)<\/td><td>8:15 A.M. &#8211; 6:00 AM.
