The University of Mekdela Amba has given two consecutive days (November 8 – 9, 2024) of professional
familiarization training for 21 newly hired teachers.. The Executive Director of Mekaneselam Campus, Mr.
Abdurehman Awol, attended the induction training and conveyed a welcome message to the newly hired
teachers.
The director of academic programs of the university, Mr. Degu Abate, opened the training with a speech and
gave the necessary information to the newly hired teachers about the general situations of the university.
Moreover, Mr. Meseret Abebe , the director of technology transfer and community service of the university
gave training on the topics of professionalism, teaching and learning, active learning and teaching process
and classroom management issues.
In addition to this, Mr. Endris Abdu, the coordinator of teacher development and deliverology of the
university provided training on education assessment and evaluation. He explained that such trainings are
being given to newly hired teachers every year so as to ensure the quality of education by quickly
integrating with their duties, work environment and students.
