Mekdela Amba University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, provided a two-days training on research ethics to the researchers of the two campuses from December 16-17, 2024.
The aim of the training was to increase the capacity of researchers to conduct problem-solving research, focus on long-term research projects that are carried out in groups rather than short-term studies, and to ensure that the research carried out meets national and international standards in quality, thereby making the institution a preferred partner for other foreign and domestic government and private organizations.
In his opening speech at the training, the Vice President of Academic ,Research,TecnologyTransfer and Community Service of the university, Sileshi Abie (PhD), said, “one of the main functions of the university is to work alongside teaching, research is one of the main tasks for which it was established, so we need to help researchers to fulfill their role as a country by maintaining the quality of their research and solving problems.”
On his part, the Director of Research and Publication and Ethics, Agegn Shibeshi (PhD), explained that the training was provided by experienced scholars in the field through the Ministry of Education and focuses on the quality and competitiveness of research conducted as a country and that can bring wealth and partners to the institution.
The trainee said that the training will give them a better understanding of the quality research they will be doing and will enable them to focus on quality and group research.
